Foxit case study: from $88M to $120M ARR in 24 months
By Nancy Dent, founder of Content Corner Office and former VP of Global Digital Marketing at Foxit Software. Last updated: October 2026.
Foxit Software grew from $88M to $120M in annual recurring revenue in 24 months, adding $32M, on the same $12M marketing budget. Nancy Dent led that growth as VP of Global Digital Marketing from 2022 to 2025 by fixing attribution, moving 77.5% of spend into channels that were proven to return, and rebuilding Foxit's SEO for AI search. Content Corner Office is the same method, built as a monthly content service.

The starting point at Foxit
Foxit, a PDF and document productivity platform with millions of B2B and B2C users, was at $88M ARR with a $12M marketing budget. Spend was allocated by assumption rather than performance. Channels produced impressions, clicks and traffic, but there was no attribution framework to show which of them produced revenue. At the same time, AI search was starting to erode organic visibility built on a decade of conventional SEO.
What was done
1. Attribution before any budget decision
Revenue contribution was modelled across paid search, paid social, SEO, affiliate and email before a single dollar moved.
2. The budget was re-engineered, not increased
77.5% of spend moved out of channels the data showed were not returning and into the ones that were. The total stayed at $12M.
3. SEO was rebuilt for AI search
Foxit moved from conventional SEO to answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO): entity strategy, structured data and content built to appear in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.
4. The technical foundation was fixed
Site architecture was redesigned, structured data implemented at scale, crawlability resolved and Core Web Vitals improved across the platform.
5. Lifecycle marketing lifted retention
Email, in-app and chat sequences personalised onboarding, upsell and re-engagement to raise lifetime value and reduce churn.
The results
Foxit's ARR grew from $88M to $120M in 24 months, adding $32M on the same budget. Over the engagement, return on ad spend rose 1,358%, customer acquisition cost fell 40%, SEO returned 8x its cost, subscriptions grew 84% and organic traffic grew 169% to 60M page views a year.
"The most counterintuitive decision I made was moving 77.5% of the marketing budget out of channels the attribution data showed weren't returning. Every instinct in marketing culture says spend more to grow more. The data said the money was already there - it was just in the wrong places. Revenue grew $32M in 24 months without adding a dollar to the budget."

How Content Corner Office uses the Foxit method
Every engagement ended the same way: the client kept the results, and the method stayed with the person who designed it. Content Corner Office is that method built as software, so a B2B company can run it without hiring a content team.
- Your website is read so the writing matches how you actually write.
- Three named competitors are analysed every month to find the keywords they win and you do not.
- Every topic gets live search research, including what Google's AI Overview already says.
- Statistics come only from sources that can be cited.
- Every article opens with a clear answer AI engines can quote, the same AEO and GEO rule used at Foxit.
Each month you receive 12 blog posts and 56 social posts with matching images, in 21 countries and 7 languages, for $499 per market. An in-house content creator costs an estimated $8,500 a month.
